SUMMER SESSION BEGINS

The week of May 5 starts the summer session!! This session, TAP Las Vegas adds a 10 week session of 9-ball division at Pool Sharks starting Tuesday, June 10. With enough interest, we will play 8 and 9 ball!

Also starting this session on Mondays is the Cue Club Diamond Division with teams out of the Cue Club and Club Diamond. This is a "money division," where all teams get money back. Click here to sign up!

LEAGUE PARTY

The Spring 2008 League Party was a great success. We awarded the teams and players for their excellent pool playing abilities, held our charity raffle for the Mission of Las Vegas, had lots of great food and 40 players participated in the tournaments.Click here to view the stats and party pics.

$275 was added to the tournaments and a big thanks goes to Cheers, Stake Out, Dylans Double Deuce, Double Diamond, Hammerheads and yours truly :o) for their donations.

At the end of the day, in the 2-4 bracket with 24 players, Bobby Randall was at the top of the winners bracket with John Vece and Sam Smith ready to duel it out for 2nd and 3rd. The 3 players decided to call it a great day and split their winnings, each taking home $110! Al Peterson took 4th place, and Jr Crespo and Norm Thibodeau took 5th & 6th.

In the 5-7 bracket with 13 players, Allen Cocks was at the top of the winners bracket and ready to duel John Spartichino for 1st place. They also decided to call it a day and split their winnings. John took $90 and Allen took $95. Cortez Woodson took 3rd, followed closely by Erik Murguia in 4th place.

Pictured below is Tiffani Smith. She is the youngest member of our local league and the daughter of our illustrious photographer, Sam Smith. Sam and Tiffani play pool out of the Cue Club on Monday nights. It doesn't stop there for Sam, as he also plays on Friday night out of the Double Diamond.

The charity raffle was a great success. We collected $200 from raffle sales. A special thanks goes to the Stake Out, Club Diamond, Penny McAdow, Sharrene Peterson, Sheila Becker and Sharon Oliver for their donations to the Charity Raffle. We also donated a pool cue, case, cue ball and DVD from Chappell Billiards for the grand prize.

Penny, Jr and Fernando were awarded their incentive of $25 for putting together new teams this last session. There next membership dues will be paid for as well by the league. To earn this award, they put together a new team, which consisted of at least 3 brand new TAP members and played the entire season as captain. This goes a long way in promoting the sport and league. We really appreciate their efforts!

We had a great time and thanks to everyone for another successful season and a special thanks to our photographer, Sam Smith.

First Annual T.A.P. Duel in the Desert

to be held on July 19, 20 and 21 in fabulous Las Vegas at the Las Vegas Cue Club. Arrangements have been made at the Sahara Hotel on The Strip to accommodate those traveling from out of town. $3,000 will be awarded to the winning team! Click here for all the details.

What would be be better than playing pool and celebrating St. Patrick's Day at the Las Vegas Cue Club? Passionate and dedicated to pool and St. Patty's Day, Jennifer (the Irish lady!) and Jr. came dressed appropriately. What a great couple!!

Cortez says with a smile that he is a "wanna be pool player." Cortez has been with Art's Kids for quite some time now. He has become an important member of their team as a great pool player and a teacher to his teammates.

Gin Mill is hosting a weekly Saturday T.A.P. tournament at 8:00 PM. The tournament is FREE and a total of $130 is given to the winners! The Gin Mill also matches the "side pot" giving players the opportunity to win more $$$$. Click here for directions.
